![]() I honestly also felt the drinks were very watered-down. ![]() ![]() I'm 5 foot 5 and I felt I had to jump up to get on one of the barstools and if I was going to stand at the bar it was too deep just to stand. I also liked the pool better although it was not as big I thought the swim up bar at Secrets was too deep. For example the catamaran Cruise, free snorkeling, glass bottom boat ride I could go on and on. I guess maybe not the shows in general but they Piano Bar and all the other stuff that they offered. I thought the entertainment was so much better. I thought the food was so much better at couples Swept Away. We love taking our long morning walks on the beach and we also loved being able to walk down the beach and access some of the little beach bars for a fun little Excursion away from the hotel at little cost. What did I like better about couples Swept Away? I liked the beach I felt I can go to a hotel anywhere in the United States with nice pools but that beach in Negril can't be beat. I guess I did like the fact that you did not need reservations at any of the restaurants that was nice. His directions were unhelpful and I ended up having to ask a random worker for better directions to the room.Beachlove I can honestly say the only thing I liked better about Secrets than couples was the rooms and honestly we're just not in the rooms enough to make that a deal breaker. He was supposed to escort me to my room with my bags, but then he saw a couple getting their bags at the same time, so he switched gears and told me he'd meet me at my room with my bag later, and pointed in a vague direction to where I could find my room. Then I had to go back to the bellman for my bag. My room was finally ready around 5:20 p.m. Someone finally did come over to help them, but the manager who'd told them he would make everything right couldn't be bothered to show up despite telling them he would be there to meet them. One of the women actually started crying in frustration. They said their room was disgusting with broken fixtures, peeling paint and other issues. They told me they'd been trying to get a new room for five days with constant runaround. It did give me time to hear the horrific story of a couple of British tourists who'd booked a two-week stay at Secrets. and was told my room wasn't ready, but I should wait in the lobby. I took a walk around the property, came back at 4:35 p.m. when my room would be ready and then sent to another line to get $200 in "coupons" for the resort and a hard sell on add-ons. and waited in one line for the bellmen, then another to reach a check-in desk, where I was told I should come back at 4:20 p.m. I purposely arrived late since the listed check-in time is 3 p.m. He didn't seem surprised to see the bug at all which made me think this wasn't an isolated incident.Ĭheck-in at the resort was also painful. My "morning" coffee arrived more than an hour after I asked for it, and the waiter graciously offered to get the roach for me (which was still alive and kicking. More than an hour later, there was still no sign of maintenance. ![]() The worst part is that after I called to report said bug, the woman on the phone told me someone would take care of it. to find a clearly dying cockroach on its back between the two beds of my room. I finally gave up on sleep and got out of bed at 8 a.m. I was woken up several times on my first morning at the resort to the sounds of service carts being wheeled around the halls.
